CONROE, Texas -- The following events are planned for adults, children, young adults, and their families in April 2019 at Central Library, 104 I-45 North, Conroe, Texas.

Tuesday, April 2nd at 1:00 pm – Venomous Snakes & Poisonous Plants of Texas
A representative from the SE Texas Poison Control Center will be here to teach the public about which snakes, insects, plants, and poisons to avoid. This is a great class for those who are new to Texas, or anyone who would like more information on dangerous pests and poisons. *No live snakes present at this event. Monday, April 8th at 1:00 pm – Building Your Credit
Your credit score can impact many important areas of your life. A representative from Easter Seals of Houston will discuss great techniques to boost your score and get you back on track. No registration required.
Tuesday, April 23rd at 2:00 pm – Gardening with Bob Dailey: Lawn Care
Join Master Gardener, Bob Dailey, as he discusses how Montgomery County residents can have beautiful lawns this year. He knows all the tips and tricks for gardening and lawn care.
Tuesday, April 2nd at 1:00 pm – Computer Basics Part 2

Saturday, April 6th at 9:45 am - Spanish Computer Lab- Introducción a la Computadora para adultos

Tuesday, April 9th at 1:30 pm – Excel Part 1

Tuesday, April 16th at 1:30 pm – Excel Part 2
This intermediate Excel class will teach you how to customize your workbook by freezing panes, lining cells, protecting your worksheet, adding headers, footers and page breaks and changing your margins, alignment, and scaling. Tuesday, April 30th at 1:30 pm – Word Part 1
The information provided in this class introduces Microsoft® Word and the basics of how to start, save, open and format a document. The ribbon, tabs on the ribbon and quick tool bar are also introduced. Basic keyboard, mouse and computer knowledge is helpful with this class. Monthly or Bi-Monthly Events at the Library
First Thursday, April 4th at 11:30 am – Toddler Playdate
Ages 0-3 enjoy a come-and-go program that encourages independent toddler play and socialization with educational toys and board books. Miss Brandy looks forward to seeing everyone for a wonderful playdate! This is a monthly program.
First Thursday, April 4th at 4:00 pm – Pre-Teen After-School Book Club
All kids ages 9-12 years old are invited to join us for our preteen book club in our Children's Activity Room. We meet once every month to discuss your favorite books. (Parents or other adult caregivers are asked to remain in the Children's Department while your preteen is participating in the book club.)
Second and Fourth Tuesday, April 9th and 23rd at 5:00 pm – Needlecraft: A Good Yarn!
Crocheters, knitters, spinners, and other textile artists are welcome for fellowship and conversation! Bring your own work-in-progress and supplies and join us in the first floor small meeting room at the Central Library. If you would like to learn knitting or crochet, please come by.
Second Thursday, April 11th at 4:00 pm - LEGO® and DUPLO® Fun
Kids of all ages are invited to come to build their own creation using Legos® and Duplos® during the hour of 3:45 - 4:45pm in our Children's Activity Room! Parents are asked to remain in the room with their children under age 13.
Second Thursday, April 11th at 6:00 pm – Novels at Night Book Club
Join us for tea, snacks, and discussion every second Thursday of the month from 6:00--8:00 p.m. Every month we will discuss a new novel. (Adults 18 and older). Third Tuesday, April 16th at 3:45 pm – R.E.A.D.® to the Dogs
All kids ages 4-12 years old are invited to come and practice their reading skills with the Montgomery Pet Partners therapy dog teams in our Children's Activity Room. Each child can select a favorite book to read to one of the trained therapy dogs assisted by their owner/trainer. (Parents or other adult caregivers are asked to remain in the Children's Department while your child is participating.)
Fourth Thursday, April 25th at 4:00 pm - After-School Family FunQuest
Kids of all ages and their families are invited to join us on Thursdays after school for 'Family FunQuest'. Simple crafts, assorted games, and a book filmstrip are included in activities for the whole family. All children under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older who must remain in the activity room during the program.
