Members of the Task Force attended the National Awards on February 8, 2018 in Washington D.C.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Houston agents and Task Force Officers assigned to MOCONET, a HIDTA Initiative led by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and comprised of multiple state, local, and federal agencies, conducted an investigation into a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO).
In January 2017, MOCONET agents and TFO’s received information that the DTO was involved distributing large amounts of high grade Marijuana, Marijuana Wax, THC infused edibles, and THC infused vape pens in the Greater Houston, Texas Metroplex.
During the course of the investigation, multiple people were identified comprising the DTO. The DTO is responsible for distributing high grade Marijuana, Marijuana Wax, THC infused edibles, and THC infused vape pens to others so that it could be redistributed in Harris, Montgomery, Walker, and Trinity Counties.
As a result of the investigation, which is still ongoing, law enforcement has seized approximately 16.0 kilograms of high grade Marijuana, 17.8 kilograms of THC edibles, 663 THC-infused vape pens, 426 grams of Marijuana wax, 5.8 grams of Psylocybin (Mushrooms), 22.1 grams of Cocaine, .9 grams of Methamphetamine, 100 vials of steroids, 29 firearms, and $52,699.00 in US Currency.
The reach of this DTO is believed to extend from Colorado, Washington and Oregon.
