MCEA Opens Unique Resale Shop in Conroe

CONROE, Texas -- Montgomery County Emergency Assistance (MCEA) will be opening their new store-Unique Resale on Tuesday, February 26 at 1717 N. Frazier in Conroe. This is a great opportunity for the community to purchase name brand clothing, antique furniture, artwork, and electronics at a reasonable price while making a contribution to helping individuals in crisis. All profits from the store will be a hand up to our neighbors to move them towards self-sufficiency. Unique Resale will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am-6:00pm.
Unique Resale is located in the old Buckalew Chevrolet dealership building. “Why pay more than what you can afford, when you can shop for less at Unique Resale”, says Tim Barnes, Executive Director. “It’s a great concept of taking items that are donated to MCEA for resale and taking the money to re-invest in our neighbors.”
The main office, at 1022 McCall Street in Conroe, has served clients since 1981 with temporary financial assistance for individuals facing a crisis. Client services include rent and utility assistance, food, and clothing. Appointments are available by calling (936) 539-9211 Monday through Thursday. Donations of food, gently used clothing, and furniture are accepted at this location also 9:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday. Arrangements may be made to pick up furniture.
The Odds and Ends Bargain Store will continue to operate at the main location every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:00am-3:00pm to meet the needs of the lower income families with necessary clothing and household items.
Opportunities for volunteers are available to assist at both the resale shops and the MCEA food pantry every Tuesday through Friday by calling Margie Taylor at the phone number provided.
