CONROE, Texas -- Pacific Yard House, one of the newest restaurants and entertainment venues in Downtown Conroe, officially was welcomed into the community with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony inspiring guests from the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, and elected officials from Conroe.

City of Conroe Mayor Toby Powell took time to attend the event to relive past memories of the original Sparkle Ice House purchased in the 1940’s from Albert Johnson.“I remember when it was the Ice House and my grandmother was running the Mary Swain Sanitarium, the first public hospital in the area. She had ice delivered from the owner, Mr. Johnson”, said Mayor Powell.

Official attending the ribbon cutting included Conroe City Councilman Mayor Pro Tem-Duke Coon, Councilman Duane Ham, City Administrator, Paul Virgadamo, Brian Bondy, President of the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber, and Chairman of the Board for Conroe Chamber-George Wagoner. Many local community businesses from both sides of the San Jacinto River participated in the celebration enabling an “After Hours” theme at the end of the work day.

“Pacific Yard House will continue to bring local performing singer/songwriters from Austin, Dallas, and surrounding areas throughout Texas to our venue every Friday and Saturday evenings”, said Mike Jones, Booking Manager. “We want to feature top quality musicians on a consistent basis to increase visibility to the “Entertainment District” of Downtown Conroe.

Pacific Yard House, opened on September 1, 2017, serves lunch and dinner everyday with a capacity for 250 seated guests and is the largest restaurant/entertainment venue in Downtown Conroe. Live local music on Wednesdays through Saturdays without a cover.
