Historic downtown Conroe to host Root for Conroe Arbor Day event

CONROE, Texas - Join ‘ROOT FOR CONROE’ on Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 9 AM to 2 PM in celebration of Arbor Day. This FREE event will be held in Founder’s Plaza at the southwest corner of North Main Street and Metcalf Street in historic downtown Conroe. Free hardwood trees will be given out until supplies are exhausted. Included with each tree will be planting instructions and site directions to insure healthy growing trees in Conroe. Learn more about the Jones State Forest and Sam Houston National Forest in Montgomery County.

Hardwood tree seedlings will be handed out in Founders Plaza.


In addition, the Montgomery County Agriculture Agent and Master Gardeners of Montgomery County, have been invited to come and give free advice on growing trees, shrubs, and plants. This Arbor Day Event will include the fun antics of Barkley, the Woodforest National Bank “tree mascot.” Stay for the Black History Parade in downtown Conroe or go to the adjoin Saturday AM Market also known as SAAM.
