Conroe kicks off Passport to Parks and Recreation contest March 26
CONROE, Texas -- The City of Conroe Parks and Recreation Department invites all citizens to participate in the Passport to Parks and Recreation Contest starting March 26, 2012.
"This is a great opportunity to get out and experience the life enhancing amenities in Conroe," Mike Riggens, Director of Parks and Recreation, said. "Whether going for a walk on one of the many trails, fishing, having a picnic, participating in one of the many award winning programs, or just reading a book in the grass, the City has something for everybody. The Parks and Recreation staff work hard to ensure your experience is fun, safe and memorable so get out and experience the benefits of parks and recreation."
Passport certificates may be picked up at City Hall, The Dean Towery Service Center, the C.K. Ray Recreation Center, the Aquatic Center and the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center. Passport certificates may also be downloaded by going to the website.
Participating in the Passport to Parks and Recreation contest is as easy as 1, 2, 3! Here's how:
Step 1: Visit all City of Conroe Parks and facilities. For information and locations of parks and facilities, go to www.cityofconroe.org or call 936 522-3842.
Step 2: Take a photo at the park or facility to show you were there.
Step 3: Show an electronic photo or a printed photo of your visit at the Parks and Recreation Administration office to get your passport certificate stamped.(Only fully stamped passports are eligible for the drawing). The Parks and Administration Office, The Dean Towery Service Center, is located at 401 Sgt. Ed Holcomb Blvd. It is open from Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
The deadline for the contest is June 29. You must turn in your photo in person, not by email.
Three Passports will be drawn and the winners announced at the July 12, 2012 Conroe City Council meeting.Prizes for the three winners include: a hotel package, a park pavilion rental, and an annual family membership to the C.K. Ray Recreation Center and the Aquatic Center.
