UPDATE: July 2
J & D Country Store reported that it's been three successful days of donations since they started their donation drive to support the Houston SPCA's mounting costs to treat the seized herd of over 200 neglected horses from the Calico Dairy Farm on League Line Road.
Monetary donations amounted to $857.43, $5,788.59 in supply donations, including 136 bags of feed.
J & D Country Store, located at 4141 W. Davis in Conroe (77304), expressed their appreciation for the community support on their Facebook page...
"What a wonderful community we have to come together like this and help these horses! We will continue to give 25% off on donations all week. So come down to J & D we would love to see you!!!"
Those wishing to contribute in some way, can still drop by J & D Country Store. Originally the donation drive was being extended through July 6, but the store has said they'll keep accepting donations as long as they continue to be dropped off.
"J&D will continue to take donations as long as they continue to come in!!! We're committed to getting the horses all the help we can!!," posted Justin Upshaw of J & D Country Store, on the Justice for League Line Road horses Conroe, Texas Facebook page.

UPDATE:
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - Reminiscent of the “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge,” the founders of the Justice for League Line Road horses Conroe, Texas Facebook page, have initiated their own version called the “LLR Horse Bucket Challenge.”
The Facebook administrators are challenging everyone to donate $5 to the Houston SCPA to help defer the mounting costs of treating the the neglected herd of horses seized from the Calico Dairy Farm on League Line Road north of Conroe, last week. The SPCA estimates that it will cost approximately $500,000 for the veterinary care, feed, and rehabilitation for the 180 horses, dairy cattle, and goats, on the property.
“Were challenging EACH of you to donate $5.00 to the Houston SPCA for the “Calico Dairy Horse Fund,” and then challenge everyone you know to do the same!” posted the admins. “You can video it, snap your pic with $5.00 and post it. I will start an album with your pics for our page. “
Funds are already trickling in from county residents, from out of state, and even from as far away as The Netherlands, with The Netherlands Facebooker challenging horse lovers throughout Europe.
Everyone is encouraged to share and challenge others, and to have fun with it.
“Donate from your horse! Make it fun, make it happen!” they posted.
Donations may also be made directly to the Houston SPCA…
