Bach, Beethoven & Barbecue Gala Announces Auction Lineup

CONROE, Texas – The 2016 Bach, Beethoven & Barbecue gala and the Young Texas Artists Music Competition Finalists' Concert and Awards, will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Crighton Theatre, 234 North Main St. in Conroe's downtown historic district.
Proceeds will benefit Young Texas Artists Music Competition
Co-chaired by Shana and Tim Arthur, the gala will kick off the celebration of the competition’s 32nd year.
“We’ve received some fabulous items for our auction this year,” said Shana Arthur. “In addition to the always-popular gourmet dinner for 10 at Lampros Gallery in The Woodlands, which will be prepared by chef Peter Lampros himself, auction-goers will be able to bid on a variety of get-away packages.”
Among the items to be auctioned include a reversible black fur vest from Sakowitz Furs of Houston; a Houston Symphony Concert performance of Mahler’s “Symphony No. 1” at Jones Hall on Sept. 24, 2016, followed by dinner and a relaxing stay at a luxury hotel; a night in a deluxe guest room at The Magnolia Hotel Houston; and a week in a private home on Nantucket Island, Mass., perfect for a couple or a family of four.
“The caliber of auction items for this year’s gala is exciting,” Susie Pokorski, chair of the Young Texas Artists Music Competition, said. “We’re so grateful to everyone who continues to support the arts in Conroe with their time and donations.”
Tickets to the gala include admission to both the concert and the after-party celebration featuring a dessert buffet provided by the Conroe Service League, complete with chocolates and champagne to toast the finalists, immediately following the awards ceremony. The post-concert party will give guests the opportunity to meet and visit with the Young Texas Artists. Attire for the evening is 'Jeans to Jewels.'

About the Young Texas Artists Music Competition:
An official music competition of the State of Texas, Young Texas Artists Music Competition was created in 1983 by the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, to encourage excellence in young musicians and further artistic growth throughout Texas. It is one of the few competitions in the country where musicians compete in their choice of four divisions: Voice; Piano; Strings; and Winds, Brass, Percussion, Harp and Guitar. This Texas competition for Texas artists has helped produce many distinguished professionals who have gone on to join prestigious orchestras, opera companies, universities and music schools around the globe.
