The Removal Specialist — Support is an on-call contractor position that assists the primary Removal Specialist during the transportation of deceased individuals from the place of death to the funeral home. This is a support role and does not carry primary or lead responsibilities. The Support Specialist works alongside a primary at all times and is not dispatched independently.
This position is ideal for individuals with other employment, school commitments, or variable schedules. Availability is self-reported and scheduling is built entirely around the contractor’s available hours. There is no set shift, no minimum availability requirement, and no penalty for limited availability. You tell us when you are available, and we schedule accordingly.
While all availability is welcome, we have the greatest need for support coverage between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM and on weekends. Candidates who are available during these windows are strongly preferred and are more likely to be scheduled on a consistent basis.
This role requires a compassionate and professional demeanor, the ability to follow direction, and the physical capability to assist with the safe and dignified handling and transportation of human remains.

Ability to lift, push, and maneuver 150 lbs or more with assistance; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs independently. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in emotionally sensitive and physically demanding situations. Reliable and able to honor scheduled availability commitments once confirmed. Must pass a criminal background check.
