CONROE, TX -- On May 28, 2025, the Conroe Fire Department responded to two separate fire incidents within the city. The first fire occurred near the front entrance of the Montgomery County Tax Office at 400 N. San Jacinto, and the second was located in the parking garage of the Montgomery County Courthouse at 301 N. Thompson.

Following thorough origin and cause investigations conducted by the Conroe Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office, both fires were determined to have been intentionally set.

As a result of the investigation, on June 3, 2025, Deputy Fire Marshals located and arrested David Allan Martin. Martin was charged with Arson (Felony 2) after providing both a verbal and written confession. He was subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

The Conroe Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office remains committed to the safety of the community and will continue to investigate all fires occurring within Conroe city limits. The office aggressively pursues criminal charges when fire-related crimes are committed.
