Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office ICAC Task Force Investigation Leads to Arrest and Identification of Child Victim

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On June 6, 2025, a Sergeant from the Precinct 1 Constable's Office, assigned to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, was conducting a proactive investigation online. At approximately 9:30 AM, while communicating with a suspect online, the suspect sent several videos of a child in various sexual positions. The Sergeant recognized the possibility that a live victim might be involved in this case.
The Sergeant initiated an investigation and requested assistance from other ICAC Task Force members to identify and locate the suspect. The team identified the suspect as Edward Anthony Hoffman, who was residing in Vidor, Texas.
The Sergeant then requested a warrant from the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office for the Promotion of Child Pornography and then reached out to local authorities in Orange, Texas, for assistance.
The Sergeant then conveyed the warrant information to the Orange Police Department (PD), and at 2:30 PM on this date, the suspect was arrested by Orange PD. During a subsequent investigation, the child in the images was identified by Orange PD, leading to additional charges being filed against the suspect.

Suspect: Edward Anthony Hoffman, W/M DOB: 09/04/1989, of Vidor, Texas, was initially charged by Montgomery County with the Promotion of Child Pornography; Orange PD added the additional charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Hoffman is currently in the Montgomery County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
