Kids of the Week - Duke and Macey

CONROE, TX -- This brother/sister combo are Duke, 9, and Macey, 7, who are the future heirs to a Conroe Fried Catfish Empire. Their parents Kelly and Dustin, run Clint’s Kuntry Katish Catering, who graciously feed the Veterans at the Lone Star Honor Flight Veterans Group on the second Wednesday of each month. And with it being summer, Duke and Macey, helped their mother, Kelly, with the serving of the condiments and tea to the Veterans. Other volunteers help with serving the Catfish, hushpuppies, and other fixins. It’s so nice to see kids actually giving of their time to volunteer at such a young age. They both go to Conroe ISD schools. Duke doesn’t have a favorite teacher, and in fact, his favorite subject in school is, Summer. His sarcasm is masterful, his humor dry, and he will make you laugh. Macey’s favorite teacher is Ms Kane, and her favorite subject is Math, which is a lot more practical. Someone is gonna need to control the finances of the catfish empire, while letting Duke run the front of house issues. Duke’s favorite sport is baseball, while Macey’s is basketball. Their favorite video game is Minecraft, which they dispute as to who is the better player. Duke’s best friend is Will, while Macey says her cousin Henry is a great friend also. Incredibly, both said they don’t want to do anything when they grow up, which is code for “We are gonna be working in catfish when we grow up.” Duke’s favorite color is red, while Macey’s favorite color is black, although she wore a pink shirt, and also liked red as well. As far as cooking, Macey has fried some fish with her Mom’s help. Duke has helped with making some mash potatoes. Duke counted up to 4, which is pretty good for a 9 year old, only missing the ‘2.’ Macey has counted to 200, and both know their ABC’s. Duke likes to read graphic novels (a comic book in book form), and incredibly, Duke likes to read The Harry Potter novels, and he is on the 7th book of the series. Good Luck Duke and Macey, and Congratulations on being ‘Kids of the Week’.
