Fatal Crash on White Oak Blvd Under Investigation

CONROE, TX -- On August 2, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Conroe Police Department responded to a major crash in the 2300 block of White Oak Blvd at Park Blvd.
Patrol officers arrived quickly and discovered a white Kia Soul fully engulfed in flames. Several civilians had removed four occupants from the burning vehicle before emergency personnel arrived. All four victims were immediately transported to local area hospitals.
One of the victims is currently listed in very critical condition, and the other three are in critical but stable condition.
Tragically, the 22-year-old driver and one passenger were unable to be rescued and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The Conroe Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
The Conroe Police Department’s Traffic Fatality Reconstruction Unit responded and began investigating the cause of the crash. Preliminary findings indicate that the Kia Soul was traveling westbound on White Oak Blvd at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway at an intersection and struck a tree head-on.
It is believed that speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information, including the names of the victims, will be released at this time. The ages of those involved range from 16 to 22 years old.
Chief Buckholtz stated:
“Our first responders mourn alongside these families as they navigate this terribly difficult time. We are deeply grateful for the courageous actions of those who assisted removing the surviving victims. On behalf of the Conroe Police Department, we extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the victims and their families as they begin the long road to healing after this terrible morning.”
