Holiday Patrols Lead to Arrests, Safety Checks, and Stronger Community Protection

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- The Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office increased patrols over the Labor Day holiday to ensure safety both on Lake Conroe and throughout Montgomery County. Together with our law enforcement partners from across the county, numerous DWI arrests were made leading to no fatality crashes throughout the weekend. With the assistance of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, all Montgomery County Constables’ Offices, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, we were able to conduct high-visibility enforcement resulting in a safer holiday weekend.

The Marine Division responded to 13 boat-related calls for service, conducted numerous safety checks, and made 26 traffic contacts on the water. Deputies also handled two water-related medical calls and investigated one drowning incident.

On land, deputies conducted 51 traffic stops and assisted motorists through the Motor Assistance Program 12 times. Enforcement efforts resulted in 32 citations, 42 warnings, and five arrests, including four felony arrests. Deputies also opened four narcotics cases and executed three warrants during the holiday weekend. Overall, deputies conducted over 200 voluntary boater safety checks at boat ramps and on the water to ensure those on the water had the required safety equipment.
