DFR Drone Helps Conroe Police Arrest Suspect on Multiple Charges

CONROE, TX -- On the afternoon of Saturday, September 26th, officers responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of North Loop 336 West involving a male and a female.

A DFR pilot deployed a drone and responded to the area. The drone was first on scene and located the male, who appeared to be yelling at a female. The DFR pilot relayed this information to patrol units as they approached the location.

Upon the arrival of patrol units, the suspect fled from officers, running down an alley and into a laundromat. The DFR pilot observed the suspect’s movements and immediately relayed the information to officers on the ground. The suspect later exited the laundromat and surrendered to officers but was no longer wearing a backpack. Officers located the backpack inside the laundromat, where it had been discarded along with other belongings.

Following the investigation, the suspect, identified as Dauntaerrius Hatchett, 25. He was arrested for felony evading with a previous conviction, possession of a controlled substance, and fraudulent possession of identifying information.

Great work and communication by the DFR pilot, who provided real-time information to officers on the ground, helping them quickly locate and apprehend the suspect.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
