2006 Texas Renaissance Festival
The Texas Renaissance Festival is back. Located in Plantersville, Texas, the TRF has long been revered as one of the nation's largest and most acclaimed renaissance theme parks. Guests are swept back into the 16th century for eight weekends from October through November, 9:00 AM to dusk.
The Festival brings the very best of live entertainment to more than twenty stages with over two-hundred performances daily. Guests are encouraged to join the fun by dressing in themed clothing that may be rented at the front gates, or purchased at any of the hundreds of shoppes located inside the park.
This year, the TRF will feature eight themed weekends beginning with the Germans opening the show with Oktoberfest featuring the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales and Alpine yodeling, along with wafting smells of bratwurst and sauerkraut. Themed weekends to follow will include 1001 Dreams, Pirate Adventures, Roman Bacchanal, All Hallows Eve, Highland Fling, Fiesta de Espana and a Celtic Christmas.
The festival is not all dress-up and theme weekends, however. A variety of shows are available for all ages, with a special section of the park known as Sherwood Forest to entertain the youngsters. For the adults, there will be returning favorites such as the Ded Bob Show at the Odeon and the Washing Well Wenches on the Castle Stage.
Whether you plan on enjoying the Texas Renaissance Festival with your family or friends, rest assured that you will be entertained and delighted by a variety of performers, shoppes, rides and, most importantly, the food!
Tickets may be purchased at a variety of locations including the Texas Renaissance Festival's Official Website, Woodforest National Bank and Star Tickets.
