The Ark Church set to 'Serve Saturday'

CONROE, Texas -- The Ark Church in Conroe is becoming a supermarket for the day by hosting its largest Saturday outreach ever—Serve Saturday—in conjunction with Weisner Auto Group and the Montgomery County Food Bank.
Volunteers from the church will assist local families in filling their shopping cart with the 100,000 pounds of food and groceries set up in the church’s parking lot. The Montgomery County Food Bank has provided the groceries with assistance from Weisner Auto Group. Local families in need are encouraged to come “shop” at the supermarket for free.
Additional volunteers will visit four area nursing homes to spend quality time with the elderly and provide basic hygiene items donated by church members. Community Pastor Rob King is coordinating Serve Saturday and will be on hand for comments.
The event is set to take place Saturday, October 6, from 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. in the Ark Church parking lot, located at 450 Humble Tank Road in Conroe.
