Anadarko announced as honoree for 2013 Building Hope Gala

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Anadarko Petroleum Corporation has been announced as the honoree for the 2013 Building Hope Gala, “Doorways to the Future,” benefiting Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity (HFHMC). Planning is now underway for the event set for Saturday, April 20, 2013, beginning at 6:30 pm at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center.
“We are so pleased to pay tribute to Anadarko for their exceptional commitment to Habitat’s mission,” said gala co-chair Brenda Mizell. “In addition to beginning construction on their 13th Habitat home in the neighborhood of Cedar Creek in January, they have made a $50,000 “Honoree Gift” to the Gala. This generous gift will go a long way in helping us further Habitat’s vision of ‘a world where everyone has a decent place to live’.”
“Anadarko is proud of our longstanding partnership with Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity,” said Bobby Reeves, senior vice president, general counsel and chief administrative officer. “Being recognized as the 2013 Habitat Gala honoree underscores the passion and servant leadership of our employees; helping hardworking families on their path to home ownership creates stronger families, better neighborhoods, and a community we can all be proud of.”
Anadarko also has a strong commitment to Habitat for Humanity in other areas where they have operations, including Colorado and Wyoming.
The Gala Committee is planning a fabulous evening with dinner and dancing to the music of Klockwork, one of Houston’s top live bands. Silent and live auctions, Bid Board items, and a raffle will add to the evening’s festivities.
Proceeds from the event will support Habitat’s mission to eliminate poverty housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with hardworking local families in need. HFHMC has built over 80 new homes to date.
HFHMC is a volunteer-based chartered affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. For more information about the Gala and to purchase tickets, visit http://hfhmctx.org/events/building-hope-gala/. To find out more about sponsoring the Building Hope Gala, email Brenda Mizell.
