Intoxication Manslaughter traffic accident
The Conroe Police responded to a call on Saturday, March 9, at approximately 7:10 p.m., to the 1200 block of N. Jacinto, in reference to a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers found that the victim, Frank Scheer, was pinned under the vehicle. Officers jacked up the vehicle and pulled the victim from underneath the car. Emergency Medical Services were unable to revive the victim and he was pronounced dead by Judge Spikes. Further investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, Ruthie Cook-Scheer, and the victim were talking as she was backing out of the driveway. The driver backed over the pedestrian, who became lodged underneath the vehicle. It was determined that the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and was arrested for manslaughter after consultation with the ADA on the scene.
