MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The Assistance LeagueÒ of Montgomery County recently expanded its scholarship program to include equine therapy at the Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch in the Woodlands. The scholarships will be distributed to the Ranch’s clients who need financial assistance for therapy sessions at the Ranch.

Assistance League of Montgomery County donates $2,500 to PCIR.

The Ranch is an equine-assisted therapy facility founded in 2006 to “enhance and transform the lives of children, individuals and families struggling with mental and physical challenges.”

As stated in the Ranch’s brochure, “Horses are known for their mysterious way of breaking down sensitive barriers and establishing profound connections with humans. Their keen senses are known to mirror the moods and emotions of those around them, creating awareness and deeper levels of interaction. This is especially true for those challenged with limited motor skills and cognitive abilities, or for those needing a unique way to heal."

Karen Spartz, Kay Richards, Kathy Berringer, and Janita Love of the Assistance League of Montgomery County, presented a $2,500 scholarship check to Sondra Himmer (c) and M.G. Tisdale, (r) President of Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch on March 20.
