Conroe High Class of '74 plans 40th reunion October 24-25

CONROE, Texas -- The Conroe High School Class of ‘74 is holding their 40th reunion October 24 and 25, at La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa. Certainly a year to remember with some of the most memorable events in the history of our country.

In the news:

-President Richard Nixon resigned from office August 9, 12 p.m.
-Serial killer, Ted Bundy, went on a skilling spree

The entertainment industry was, well...entertaining:

-Cher filed for separation from husband, Sonny Bono
-Soviet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov defected to the west
-"Happy Days" began an 11-year run on ABC
-26th Emmy Award winner, “MASH,” and 1st daytime Emmy Award presentations
-46th Academy Award winner, “The Sting” with Paul Newman and Robert Redford

The music was memorable:

-Barbra Striesand's 1st #1 hit, "The Way We Were"
-Jefferson Starship began their 1st tour
-Lindsey Buckingham & Stevie Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac
-Beatles legally disbanded

The year in sports was legendary:

-California Angel Nolan Ryan throws fastest recorded pitch (100.9 MPH)
-Hank Aaron's 733rd career HR on his last NL at bat

But most importantly, the Class of 1974 graduated from Conroe High School! Don’t miss the opportunity to take the trip down memory lane with your former classmates at the 40th reunion. Tickets are $65 per person in advance, for the Saturday night event, October 25; $80 at the door. The Saturday night reunion event will be in the Versailles Room at La Torretta, and will begin at 7:00 p.m., featuring a sit-down dinner, music, and camaraderie. Dress is ‘snappy casual’ or better (your choice).

The Friday night event, Oct. 24, will be at Energie at La Torretta, and is a free event. (Day events for Saturday not yet finalized.)
