PACN celebrates grand opening of well-woman clinic
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- PACN celebrated the grand opening of its no-cost well-woman clinic on Wednesday, December 3, from 4 pm to 6 pm. The well-woman clinic plans to serve between 500-600 women in its first year to help medically underserved women access necessary preventive health care.
With more than eight out of ten PACN clients coming from low-income households that make under $30,000 annually, the well-woman clinic will offer the following services to women 21 and older: a pelvic exam with Pap smear, breast exam, STD screening for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea and valuable question and answer time with a nurse practitioner. Patients over 30 will receive additional HPV screening.
“Many of our clients have expressed they would like to receive additional services from PACN. We believe this is because of the type of care and respect that is given.” said Cindy Sunday Powell, Executive Director for PACN. “PACN is proud to offer no-cost services to under-resourced women of Montgomery and North Harris counties.”
The 2,200 square-foot clinic will operate under the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (ACOG). ACOG is a nonprofit organization of women's health care physicians which advocates highest standards of practice.
All services will be delivered by a nurse practitioner under the direction of PACN medical director Jon Rawson, MD.
PACN (Pregnancy Assistance Center North) is a 501(c)3 non-profit pregnancy medical clinic that empowers and educates regarding pregnancy and sexual health issues.
