MONTGOMERY, Texas - The Houston Area High School Fishing Tournament took place at Lake Conroe this Saturday, February 28. There were 42 boats from area high schools that launched their boats from Stow A Way Marina, starting at 5 a.m. on a very cold morning in Willis, Texas.
Derek Pietsch and Paxton Simmons came in first place with their bag of 5 fish weighing in at 21.32 pounds. Derek's largest fish weighed 7.47 pounds. Clint Davis came in 3rd place with his bag of 3 fish weighing in at 9.04 pounds.
Montgomery High School came in first place with the total weight of 30.36 pounds. It was an extremely cold day on the lake. This is a passion for these guys and no matter what the weather conditions, they are determined to bring the fish in. Awesome job for bringing it home to our town.
