A National Celebration of Books and Readings for Children, May 5-9

The Woodlands Children’s Museum has planned a week full of special book readings.

Children’s Book Week at the museum begins at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, with a reading of “Russell Rides the Range” by ArleneGraziano.

On Wednesday, May 6, Peggy Borel will read “Teach Me! ABC” at 11 a.m.

At 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, Carolyn Gray will read “ME: Manners and Etiquette.”

And On Friday, May 8, there will be a reading of “Unfamous Pigs” by Brittany J. Fisher at 11 a.m., and Varsha Bajaj will read “How Many Kisses Do You Want Tonight?” at 1 p.m.

The week concludes with Alicia Johnson’s reading of “Tasha Tudor” at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9.

“Reading is so essential to children’s success in school and in life in general,” Angela Colton, executive director of the museum, said. “We want to do whatever we can to foster a love of literature from an early age. Children’s Book Week is the perfect opportunity to have fun with reading by observing and listening to authors reading their own stories. The hope is that they will remember what they saw and heard and become inspired as adults.”

The Woodlands Children’s Museum’s calendar offers a wide variety of activities – from art to science to make-believe and magic. All activities are included in the cost of admission. Daily admission is $5 per person 2 years and older. Admission is free for children under 2 and museum members. Recommended for ages 7 years and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, in The Woodlands, 77381, the museum has a full calendar of exciting activities. To learn more, visit woodlandschildrensmuseum.org or call 281-465-0955.
