Constable Ryan Gable and Longhorn Steakhouse team up to benefit Children's Safe Harbor
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable recently teamed up with Longhorn Steakhouse in The Woodlands to raise funds for Children’s Safe Harbor by hosting a cowboy breakfast for the third year in a row.
Community leaders, elected officials, and members of Bikers Against Child Abuse turned out to contribute a $20 or more donation for the hearty breakfast, which was underwritten by Longhorn Steakhouse.
Children’s Safe Harbor’s mission is to facilitate the healing of children who have experienced sexual abuse by facilitating investigation, prosecution, justice and healing all within one central location. Serving children ages two through 17 and their families in Montgomery, San Jacinto and Walker counties, this nationally-accredited children’s advocacy center brings several agencies together in a co-located facility to minimize the traumatic need for the child victim to re-tell their experience to multiple agencies. CSH currently serves over 1,000 new cases a year.
“We provide forensic interviewing, medical services, family advocacy, and counseling at no cost to the families,” explained Victoria Constance, MSPH, PhD, Executive Director and CEO of the Board of Directors for Children’s Safe Harbor. “Seeing a continual increase in the number of cases we serve each year, we have experienced outgrowth of our facility, which is why fundraising is more important than ever to help us build a larger location. We are grateful for Constable Ryan Gable and Longhorn Steakhouse’s hospitality as well as the generous guests who supported us.”
Billy Banks, Managing Partner of Longhorn Steakhouse, added, “It is truly heartwarming to see so many caring folks come together and support the important work that Children’s Safe Harbor provides for our community. Longhorn Steakhouse is proud to team up with Constable Ryan Gable to host this each year.”
This year’s breakfast raised $4,000 which complemented the approximately $15,000 raised in the last two years at the restaurant.
