CONROE TX—Just off the square in Conroe, sits a barber shop stop with a unique history. Shepard’s barber shop opened its doors in 1912 and has been faithfully serving its customers ever since, making it the oldest continuous barber shop in Texas. Tune in the weekend of June 29-30, 2019 as host, Shane McAuliffe, takes a stop at this small shop to hear about the history and service that keeps customers coming back for generations.

Lone Star Emmy Award winning TV series, The Texas Bucket List, takes a unique stop at the oldest continuous barber shop in Texas

Leon Apostolo went to barber school when he was 16 years old. Once he graduated in 1978, he started his career at Shepard’s Barber Shop and never left. For five decades Leon has had a chair to call home in this little shop, and in 2013, he took it over and continues its unique legacy and history. Many at his shop, young and old, testify that the nostalgia of an old-fashioned haircut cannot be beat. Although barber shops have faded through the years, Leon works to preserve these classic cuts that provide an experience unlike any other.
