NEW CANEY, TX - The following events are planned for adults, children, young adults, and their families in September 2019 at R. B. Tullis Library, 21569 Hwy 59, New Caney, Texas.

Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:30pm – Learn to Play the Ukulele
Bring your uke and tuner and join in the fun! All ages and skill levels welcome!
Wednesday, September 4th at 4:00pm – Lego Fun
Join us for an hour of creativity, building, and fun with Legos! RECOMMENDED AGES: 5 YR-12 YR. Tickets are required and handed out at the children's desk five minutes before the program. Note: This is a free-play program. Come and go as you please!
Saturday, September 7th at 10:30am – Family Movie Matinee: DETECTIVE PIKACHU
Join us each month as we enjoy a free screening of a family film projected on the big screen! Children (aged 0-12 years) and their families are invited to watch Detective Pikachu (2019) with us! Popcorn from Showbiz Cinemas-Kingwood and soda will be provided. Rating: PG. Runtime: 104 minutes. Tickets are required and handed out at the front desk five minutes before the program. Note: Tickets are not given out after 11:00am as a courtesy to the presenter and audience. Please arrive on time!
Monday, September 9th at 1:30pm – 3:00pm – Computer Basics Part 1
Learn the basics of how to use a computer, including the mouse and keyboard.
Wednesday, September 11th at 10:00am – Adult Book Club
In September, we are reading "Wicked Autumn" by G.M. Malliet. Join us for coffee and a fun discussion! Newcomers always welcome!
Wednesday, September 11th at 4:00pm – Preteen STEAM
A one-hour program that engages and fosters an interest in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Join us after school or bring your homeschool friends! REQUIRED AGES: 9 YR-12 YR ONLY. Sorry, no exceptions. Note: This is a free-play program FOR PRETEENS ONLY. Come and go as you please!

Monday, September 16th at 1:30pm – 3:00pm – Computer Basics Part 2
This class continues the explanation of your computer with focus on the Windows 10 operating system. You will learn about the operating system, the parts of the desktop and task bar, customization using your control panel and personalizing your desktop and identifying parts of a window.

Join us for a free showing on the big screen! This month’s movie is “The Public”, starring Alec Baldwin and Emilio Estevez (2hr 2min, Rated PG-13). Free popcorn from ShowBiz Cinemas Kingwood and free soda will be provided!
Wednesday, September 18th at 4:00pm – Coloring Club
Young artists and their caregivers can color the stress away each month with coloring pages ranging from basic to intricate using crayons, colored pencils, and markers. RECOMMENDED AGES: 3 YR-12 YR. This is the introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint. The class will explain the main window, creating a presentation with or without a template, adding and editing text, graphics and tables in a slide, adding a new slide, changing the layout of a slide, and saving your presentation.
