Community Development is split up into two divisions: building permits and engineering. The building permits division reviews all details of local building and ensures that they meet all legal codes. The division also does building inspections throughout the process of construction. The Engineering division reviews subdivision plats for the property within the city to ensure that it sticks to standards. They also overlook all subdivision improvement plans, and all site plans for commercial development permits. They reside over all inspection associated with subdivision infrastructure construction as well as commercial site work, with the exception of the building inspection.
