Fatal Hit and Run Suspect Sought - Who Killed Mevlin Lee Rodgers

HOUSTON, TX -- Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for a Hit and Run – Failure to Stop and Render Aid – Fatality.

Reward of up to $5,000 leading to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in this case.

On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at approximately 9:43 a.m. Melvin Lee Rodgers was hit by a vehicle in the 9400 block of Mesa Dr. in Houston, Texas. Mr. Rogers was walking eastbound when he was struck by a vehicle described as a black Chevrolet. The suspect's vehicle was traveling westbound on Tidwell Rd. when the collision occurred. The suspect(s) fled the scene without providing any aid to Mr. Rogers, who sustained major injuries and tragically passed away as a result.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black Chevrolet Tahoe. The vehicle had chrome wheels, side mirrors, door handles and sideline. It also had tinted windows.
