CONROE, TX -- During a June 13th City Council Meeting, the City Council voted to amend the defined hours of landscape irrigation Chapter 70 Sec. 70-42. This news release provides information on the changes, new watering hours, and enforcement actions for violations.

The City of Conroe is enforcing mandatory year-round irrigation restrictions to prevent the loss of water pressure in our system. The lack of pressure can be attributed to the massive growth the City has experienced in the past years, failing infrastructure, and over-irrigating.

During a June 13th City Council Meeting, the City Council voted to amending the defined hours of landscape irrigation Chapter 70 Sec. 70-42. This news release provides information on the changes, new watering hours, and enforcement actions for violations.

Landscape irrigation accounts for the most significant household water use in the City of Conroe. As increasing demands are placed upon our water resources, we all must make water conservation a way of life.

Mandatory lawn and landscape watering measures are in effect throughout the City of Conroe from May 1 through October 31. This month, the City of Conroe amended the current Ordinance to designate two specific days of the week per address for landscape irrigation based on ODD or EVEN addresses.

The watering window is from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. The City of Conroe will enforce these restrictions during summer months unless the City has implemented a stage of the Drought Contingency Plan Ordinance.

When to Water Your Lawn: Knowing when to water your lawn depends on the time of year and whether you have an odd or even numbered address. (See chart below)
