Conroe Resident to Receive National Theatre Award

CONROE, TX -- Mark Wilson of Conroe, Texas, is being honored with the Robert E. Gard Superior Volunteer Award by the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT). The 2025 AACT National Awards will be presented at an awards ceremony during AACTFest 2025 National Theatre Festival in Des Moines, Iowa. For Mark Wilson, community theatre has always been more than a hobby—it’s a heartfelt way to give back. Through years of dedicated service both on and off stage, Mark has helped create meaningful theatrical experiences that entertain, inspire, and bring people together. His commitment to volunteerism has enriched his local theatre community and touched audiences of all ages.
“Volunteering in community theatre, both on and off stage, has been an incredibly rewarding way to serve the community,” Mark says. “We offer our patrons the opportunity to laugh, sing, cry, and reflect on many fond memories.”
Whether he’s sparking amazement in younger audience members or bringing joy and nostalgia to longtime patrons, Mark’s passion for theatre shines in every role he takes on.
