CONROE, TX -- The Players Theatre Company proudly presents Private Lives, Noel Coward’s brilliantly witty 1930s comedy of manners, opening June 20th at the historic Owen Theatre in downtown Conroe. This timeless tale of love, passion, and perfectly delivered barbs promises to delight audiences with its sharp humor and enduring charm.

Hailed as one of the most sophisticated and entertaining plays ever written, Private Lives tells the story of Elyot and Amanda, a divorced couple who find themselves honeymooning with their new spouses—only to discover they’re staying in adjacent rooms at the same French hotel. Old sparks ignite as their rekindled romance leads to chaos, hilarity, and the kind of verbal fencing that made Coward a legend of the stage.

The cast of Private Lives features Amy Esacove as Amanda and Ralph Biancalana as Elyot, bringing depth and sharp comedic timing to Coward’s iconic duo. Caprice Carter and Shawn Havranek shine as newlyweds Sibyl and Victor, with Melissa Cummins rounding out the cast as the no-nonsense Louise. The production is directed by Randall Packer, with Hayley Beiermeister as assistant director and Alexandar Oxner as stage manager—together delivering a fresh, fast-paced take on this classic comedy.

“Noel Coward’s Private Lives is one of the wittiest plays ever written. We are excited to bring this funny and clever play to the Houston area”, says Director Randall Packer.

Don't miss your chance to see this classic romantic comedy brought to life by Conroe’s most cherished theatrical institution. Whether you're a longtime theatre lover or new to the magic of the stage, Private Lives is the perfect summer escape—clever, stylish, and full of surprises.

The production runs from June 20th- July 6th. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm at The Owen Theatre, 225 Metcalf in Downtown Conroe. Tickets are available by calling the box office at (936) 539-4090 Tuesday through Friday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm or online at www.PlayersTheatreCompany.com. Founded in 1967 as The Little Theatre of Conroe, The Players Theatre Company has been a cornerstone of the Montgomery County arts scene for more than 50 years. From humble beginnings on the Conroe High School stage and a former plumbing supply store, the company helped restore the Crighton Theatre in 1979 and produced shows there for nearly three decades as The Crighton Players. In 2008, in partnership with the City of Conroe, the group became The Players Theatre Company and now calls the intimate and charming Owen Theatre home.
