MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On June 10, 2025, a Precinct 1 Investigator assigned to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force conducted a proactive online investigation targeting individuals seeking to exploit minors. During the operation, the investigator made contact with a suspect who requested explicit images of an 8-year-old girl.

Through continued investigation, including the use of an additional undercover profile, ICAC Task Force members were able to positively identify the suspect as Gabriel Thomas Slusher, a police officer employed by the Houston Metro Police Department. Upon identification, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office immediately issued an arrest warrant for Slusher.

On June 12, 2025, the ICAC Task Force requested assistance from the United States Marshals Service to locate and apprehend the suspect. At approximately 2:30 PM that day, Slusher was arrested without incident on a warrant for Attempt to Commit Sexual Performance by a Child Under 14 Years of Age, a Second-Degree Felony. He was subsequently transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he remains in custody with bond set at $100,000.

The Houston Metro Police Department was notified of the arrest and is fully cooperating with the Montgomery County ICAC Task Force’s ongoing investigation.

Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable Philip Cash stated, “We are thankful for the swift coordination and support from our law enforcement partners. This case underscores the importance of working collaboratively across jurisdictions to protect our most vulnerable—our children.”
