CONROE, TX – The Conroe Noon Lions Club, a local branch of the international service organization, is proud to announce it is hosting its annual fishing tournament for special needs children, Ken’s ‘Kids on the Lake,’ taking place Saturday, September 13 at Owen Park in Conroe.

Registration now open for Sept. 13 event

This popular event was founded in 1993 by founder Lion Ken Anderson, who – along with co-founder Lion Pat McPherson – wanted to give parents and their special needs children time to enjoy the beauty of the water, the wonder of the great outdoors, and the thrill of catching a big fish.

At Owen Park – 10245 Owen Drive in Conroe – from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on September 13, Lion volunteers will assist children with fishing, games, prizes, and loads of fun. A hamburger-and-hot-dog lunch will be provided to all, and everyone will work to ensure that every child goes home a winner.

Fishing gear and bait will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own. The age limit for child participants is 5 - 18 years old. Each child must have one adult guardian accompany them throughout the tournament, which is free of charge to attend and participate in.

The deadline to submit your registration is Wednesday, September 10. To register, send an email to cnlc@conroenoonlions.org – or send a fax to 936-760-1668 – with the child’s name, age, and date of birth, along with the name and relationship of the guardian and their address, phone number, and email address. Also to be included is the type of the child’s disability and if any appliances such as walkers or wheelchairs are to be used.
