GRANGERLAND, Texas – The second half of the District 18-4A season has begun for the Caney Creek High School softball team. But the Lady Panthers were on the short end of a 6-2 score with the Huntsville Lady Hornets on Friday.
The Lady Panthers slip to 16-9 overall and 5-4 in district play. It’s the third loss in four games for Caney Creek, which looks to get back into the win column at 6 p.m. Tuesday when they travel to Kingwood Park.
Courtney Biles, Lorraine Negrini and Katy Marks had two hits apiece against Huntsville pitching. The Lady Panthers managed seven hits but could only produce single markers in the second and fifth innings. Shelbi Sealy had the other hit and Meghan Tanner drove in a run.
