Learningrx offers free continuing education courses to teachers
Teachers in Houston now have an option to obtain their required continuing education credits (CEUs) in the comfort of their own home at no cost.
Henry King, director of LearningRx Houston Central, said his company is offering a program for area teachers as his way of saying thank you.
“I know how hard teachers work all year,” King said. “This is my way of giving back. It’s difficult to fit in more time for obtaining credits. So we wanted to help make the course available for free and make it as interesting as possible.”
The online course provides methods for detecting students with weak cognitive skills and then outlines methods for strengthening those skills. King explained that the U.S. Department of Education indicates that weak cognitive skills are the source of more than 80 percent of learning problems.
The interactive course includes information about brain research and how brain training can make a difference in today’s classrooms.
The brain-training center will make the online courses available without charge, effective immediately. Teachers can visit http://lrxhouston.k12ceus.com and enter lrxhouston in the coupon code box to take the course for free.
“Helping out teachers ultimately helps our kids,” King said. “I’m hoping teachers will take advantage of this deal.”
The unique training at LearningRx transforms a student’s ability to learn at a core, cognitive level. To learn more about LearningRx Houston Central, visit www.learningrx.com/houston-central.
