CONROE, Texas – The Conroe High School girls’ basketball team closes the 2012-13 season on Friday, Feb. 2, at Oak Ridge High School. The Tigerettes (11-17, 3-8) are scheduled to tip off the finale at 7 p.m.

Oak Ridge (3-7) will likely decide the fourth and final playoff berth from District 14-5A on Tuesday, Feb. 5, when it travels to A&M Consolidated (4-6), which swept the Tigerettes this season. The Woodlands, College Park, and Lufkin have already claimed the district’s top three playoff spots.

Offense has come at a premium this season for a Conroe team averaging 42 points per game and one without a player averaging double figures. Freshman Erica Powell is scoring nine points per game to go along with four assists and three steals while junior Reagan Magee averages another eight points per game.

Juniors Courtney Boatright and Jane Schute also put together productive seasons. Both averaged right at six points and six rebounds per game.

The Caney Creek High School girls’ basketball team prepares for its final home game of the 2012-13 season. The Lady Panthers (10-18, 3-11) host Waller at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2. They close the season with a 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, game at Brenham.

Meris Walls and Jessica Twardowski lead the team in scoring. Both average about 14 points per game.
