Softball: Conroe, Caney Creek look for improvement over second half

CONROE, Texas – The Conroe High School softball team seeks its first District 14-5A win when it hosts A&M Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Tigerettes (4-14, 0-4) showed some promise at the plate in a recent 19-6 loss to College Park. Kendall McManhan homered and singled while driving in two runs to pace the six-hit attack. Kaitlyn Adams added two hits, including a double, and drove in a run.

Maycie Walton and Jena Stalinsky also added to Conroe’s hit totals with one each while Sydney Adams drove in a run.

The Caney Creek High School softball team (2-16, 0-6) finished the first half of District 18-4A play on Friday still seeking that elusive first win. The Lady Panthers fell 15-3 to Magnolia West at home.

Lorraine Negrini and Courtney Biles (RBI) collected two hits each to pace Caney Creek’s seven-hit attack. Taylor Henthorn (RBI), Autumn Thomas and Alissa Arnall also contributed to the hit total with one apiece. Taylor Rocka drove in a run.
