Softball: Adams homers for Conroe

CONROE, Texas – The Conroe High School softball team has seen wins come few and far between during the 2013 season, but that hasn’t kept them from swinging for the fences.
The Tigerettes fell 19-1 on Tuesday to District 14-5A-leading The Woodlands. Conroe managed just one hit in the game, but what a hit it was.
Freshman right-fielder Kaitlyn Adams blasted a towering home run in the second inning. And while it wasn’t enough to offset the Lady Highlanders’ output, it certainly gives the Tigerettes hope for the future.
Conroe (4-17, 0-7) looks to keep swinging the bat when it hosts Bryan at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28. Two more home games remain on the 2013 schedule. The Tigerettes entertain Oak Ridge at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, and host Lufkin at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 19, in the season finale.
