MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The Woodlands Diving Team is presenting the Laura Wilkinson Golden Invitational Diving Competition on Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28 at the Conroe ISD Natatorium located at the Woodforest Stadium on David Memorial Drive.

Laura Wilkinson, 2000 Olympic Gold medalist in 10-meter Platform diving, will be on hand Saturday during the event and there will be two autograph signing sessions, mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Laura Wilkinson was the first woman in history to win a gold medal in every major world competition in platform diving – 2000 Olympic Games, 2004 World Cup and 2005 World Championships. “Laura was not only one of the greatest divers in the world but one of the best ambassadors our sport has ever had. Her wholesome lifestyle and genuine humility are traits that I personally love and wish that all young athletes would try to emulate“ said Kenny Armstrong, 3 time Olympian, Laura’s diving coach and current coach of the Woodlands Diving Team.

Divers will compete on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards each day beginning at 9:00 a.m. The event is free so spectators can come out to watch divers compete and to meet Laura in person and get her autograph. Event T-shirts and programs will be available for purchase and are perfect for Laura to sign.
