CONROE, Texas -- Lone Star Family Health Center reminds you that almost every student - kindergarten through high school – will be back in school beginning Monday, August 26. Reduce your speed around the neighborhoods, be respectful of school zones and school crossings, and PUT YOUR CELL PHONEDOWN!

Think NUTRITIOUS when packing the school lunch box:

• Choose whole wheat bread instead of white. Whole grains are loaded with nutrients and fiber.

• Be generous with vegetables and fruits. Baby carrots, broccoli, and apples slices are great to dip with yogurt or peanut butter.

• Cut back on sweets. Eliminate cookies and candies in the lunch box; and avoid sugary drinks.

• Let your child get involved with deciding the lunch box menu. Give him or her a list of nutritious choices to encourage eating a healthy lunch.

Lone Star Family Health Center was formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2002 to strengthen, stabilize and expand patient access to affordable health care services in the Montgomery County area. LSFHC is staffed by board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners and resident physicians. The staff and leadership save lives by providing the highest quality care to all patients – from prenatal and newborns to the elderly – and serves as a medical home for ALL who seek care. The relationships between LSFHC and our friends and partners are critical to a healthy community.
