CISD Campus Updates Week of April 23 thru 29

Conroe Independent School District campus updates for the week of April 23-29.
Anderson Elementary School
The fruit of the month for April is an apple. Encourage your student to live healthy by bringing an apple for lunch or a snack during the entire month of April.
Kindergarten students will be taking a field trip to Old McDonald's Farm in Humble on April 24.
Third grade students will be taking a field trip on April 25.
Bozman Intermediate School
Bozman sixth grade Spring Aloha Dance will be Friday, April 25.
Fifth grade Field Trip to the Houston Zoo is on Tuesday, April 29. Please make sure your fifth grader has turned in their permission form. Parents, please notify the homeroom teacher if you would like to chaperone.
Spring Choir Concert is Thursday, May 1 from 6:30-7: p.m.
The Book Fair coming the first week of May.
Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week in May 5-9.
Conroe Ninth Grade High School
Physical day will be Tuesday, April 29. The doctors from Lonestar will be with us, as well as our team Orthopedic and his Orthopedic Assistant. The cost is $20 cash or check (payable to CHS Sports Medicine). The schedule for the day will be: fourth period: Golden girls, wrestling, band, ROTC and cross country (students from CHS main only) fifth period: All fifth period athletics at CHS main sixth period: all freshman-golden girls, wrestling, band, ROTC, girls & boys soccer, cross country, girls & boys basketball seventh period: Freshman football and all CHS main seventh period athletics Freshman will shuttle over to main campus at the end of fifth period and be return to CHS9 before the end of the school day.

Creighton Elementary School
Wednesday, April 23, third and fourth grade students will take the STAAR Reading Test. Go Cubs! Congratulations to our two Destination Imagination teams! This was our first time to participate and our students and coach did an awesome job at regional competition. The “Art Tools” team placed fifth out of twenty- one teams and the “Atom Booms” placed ninth out of nineteen teams. Our coach was Mrs. Leona McCord. We want to extend our appreciation to her and our students, Karlie Cheatwood, Haylie Grimes, Jacquelyn Martinez, Isabella Roberts, Skylar Stepp, Junior Yanez, Brian Brannock, Ashton Rushing, Emily Slaughter, Gallant Sloan, and Daniella Sorto.
Cryar Intermediate School
Congratulations to sixth grader Jocelyn Porter and fifth graders Garrett Hallbauer and Josie Boyes. These Cats received awards in an essay contest sponsored by the Conroe Symphony Orchestra.
Sixth grade reading and fifth grade science STAAR are on Wednesday, April 23. No lunch deliveries will be accepted in the front office on this day.
The Conroe ISD sixth grade Solo and Ensemble Contest was held on April 12. Cryar had 33 brass and percussion players, 26 woodwind players and 19 orchestra players participated in the contest. Giesinger Elementary School
Fun Run kickoff is Monday, April 28. The run will be May 7.
Hauke Alternative
Silver Foxes will take place on April 23.
TAKS test will be on April 23 and 24.
they get plenty of rest the night before and a healthy breakfast that morning. We are very proud of all our students and we know they will do their best. Please no volunteers or visitors on campus during testing days.

Reaves Elementary School
Third and fourth grade will be taking the state STAAR tests on April 23.
All Reaves families will celebrate with our Spring Carnival on Friday, April 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. Food, games, silent auction and bouncy houses will be fun for all. Please contact PTO at 709-5400 if you would like to sponsor a booth.
San Jacinto Elementary School

San Jacinto Suns will be celebrating Math/Science Night on Thursday, April 29 from 5 – 7 p.m.
Travis Intermediate School
Congratulations to fifth grade bilingual students who did an awesome job on the “Kick the STAAR” Soccer Tournament, held at Woodforest Stadium. We are proud of you! We are rooting for our sixth grade bilingual and PASS students who will be competing in “Kick the STAAR” on April 25. Go Timberwolves!
Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will host a garage and bake sale on April 26, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., in the back parking lot of the school. Contact Brenda Becerra, our receptionist, if you would like a booth.
Washington Junior High School
Congratulations to the Wind Ensemble Band and Chamber Orchestra for earning a Sweepstakes, the highest score possible. It has been an amazing year for the school's fine arts departments. This is the first time in the history of the school that band, choir, and orchestra earned top ratings for their performances. The theater arts students will be performing “Alice in Wonderland “on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
Kayla Swan received the Student Ambassador Award for the month. David Moore was presented with the Teacher Ambassador Award, and Briana Barrera was named Paraprofessional Ambassador.
