Major freeway closure planned this weekend for I-45N northbound

NORTH HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A major freeway closure on I-45N northbound, is planned for this weekend from 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, through 5:00 a.m. Monday, September 8. The closures are as follows:

- The three outside northbound lanes from Parker Road to Little York Road, will be shut down.

-The northbound exit ramp to Little York Road will also be closed, so commuters are asked to take the Gulf Bank exit ramp.

- The northbound entrance ramps from Tidwell Road and Parker Road also will be closed. Drivers are asked to used the Little York entrance ramp instead.

- One lane heading northbound on the highway will also be closed at Shepherd Hill Road.

- For drivers heading toward downtown on Interstate 45, the southbound exit ramp to Crosstimbers Street will be closed from 2 to 3pm.

Drivers are urged to use these alternate routes: the Hardy Toll Road, I-59N, and SH 249; any route other than I-45N. The best defense is to avoid.
