MP Studio Brings Home the Gold

HOUSTON -- MP Studio was recently recognized as top in the city.

The interior design firm was honored with the 2014 Houston’s Best PRISM Award in the “Volume Builder Interior Merchandising for a Model Home -- $350,000 to $400,000” category by the Greater Houston Builders Association.

The category recognizes the interior design of a model home that was open for public tours between Jan. 1 and June 1. Entries were judged on use of color, texture, interior space, furniture, accessories, window and wall treatments, and appeal to the product’s specific target market in the most cost-effective manner.

Design director Shana Jacobs explained that MP Studio applied for the interior merchandising award for its work with KB Home, listing seven of the model showcases the firm designed for the volume builder. She said judges visit models throughout the city to determine a winner.

“In this category, we were competing with a number of other high-end builders and their designers,” Jacobs said. “It was an incredible honor to be recognized for our hard work.”

More than 100 awards were presented to Houston-area builders, developers, remodelers and industry professionals at the 2014 Houston's Best PRISM Awards gala held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on October 4.

Jacobs accepted the award while attending the annual event, directed by the GHBA Sales and Marketing Council.

“This was such a huge accomplishment,” Jacobs said. “The PRISM awards recognize the top tier of Houston’s home-building industry. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be included in this group of amazing professionals.”

Brittany Meeks Biddle, lead designer at MP Studio, said she was excited to learn that they had won the award.

“It is such an honor to win this award in a city as large as Houston, which is home to many talented designers,” Biddle said. “Although we are always proud of our creations, it is thrilling to hear that our peers and other designers think they are beautiful as well.”

MP Studio, located at 16000 Memorial Drive, is the sister company of architecture firm Meeks + Partners. The company was launched with a mission to offer interior design services that meet the specific needs of architects and developers.
