Go Texan at The Woodlands Children's Museum
The Woodlands Children's Museum
Celebrate Texas Independence Day March 3
The Woodlands Children’s Museum invites guests to “Go Texan” in celebration of the Texas Independence Day.
The museum, located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280 in The Woodlands, will commemorate the day when the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed, creating the Republic of Texas.
The fun begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3. The larger-than-life Tall Texan cowboy will entertain guests from 11 a.m. to noon with rope tricks and his ability to balance on stilts. Guests are invited to have their photo taken with this extraordinary cowboy.
Outback Western Wear is sponsoring the event.
The cost to attend the event is included in the price of admission, which is $5 per person, and participants are invited to stay and play after the celebration.
“We’re inviting everyone to come out and lasso up some fun,” executive director Angela Colton said. “And we encourage families to learn about Texas traditions and local history for the occasion.”
Guests are invited to stay and play after the celebration. At 11 a.m., the Boogie Bash will begin for toddlers to age 5. The program helps children develop rhythm, listening skills and language – and encourages cooperation and social interaction.
At noon, the museum will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 111th birthday during a special Storybook Theatre presentation. Children will be invited to listen to some of the greatest Seuss’ stories, like “Cat in the Hat” and “Horton Hears a Who.” They will also be able to create Dr. Seuss’ character-inspired art in the Muse.
