Join the Boogie Bash at the Woodlands Children's Museum

WOODLANDS - Dance can be a powerful tool for early childhood development.

“Children can learn to understand the space around them, cooperate and interact socially, develop a sense of rhythm, and strengthen listening skills – all by grooving to music,” Angela Colton, executive director at The Woodlands Children’s Museum, explained.


That’s why the museum hosts a regular Boogie Bash – an opportunity for toddlers and children under the age of 5 to learn to move to a beat, with museum staff members leading the children and their parents through a series of fun exercises.


“Children learn language skills as well as auditory processing and how to follow directions – all while enjoying rhythm and melody,” Colton said.


Boogie Bash is held at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays at the museum located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280 in The Woodlands.


The program has a different theme every week: On Aug. 4, Picnic Games will be the inspiration to dance; on Aug. 11, activities will focus on caped crusaders for the Super Heroes Boogie Bash; and the theme for Aug. 18 is Silly Songs; be sure to save the date of Aug. 25 to make plans to attend the museum’s Dance Party.


The Boogie Bash is just one of a number of fun and educational programs at The Woodlands Children’s Museum. Daily admission is $5 per person 2 years and older, and museum members are admitted at no charge. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
