Damage in Willis due to possible tornado (video)

WILLIS, Texas - The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Willis at approximately 4:15 p.m. The point of touchdown was a fabrication company, Mueller Incorporated, located at 16361 Highway 75. Major damage was reported, but the business was unoccupied at the time.

Also damaged was a local restaurant and several trailer homes in the vicinity, but no injuries were reported. Power is currently out in the area, but service crews from the electric company is already on the scene to get the power back on.

Another band of storms is predicted to hit the Greater Houston area Sunday morning. The storms could be severe with damaging winds; isolated street flooding and possibly tornadoes.

Conroe Today will post any weather alerts issued by the National Weather Service, to its Twitter account. In the event of a tornado warning, move to an interior room, protect head and eyes, and resist the temptation to go outdoors and film it.
