Unique Mother's Day Gifts From the Woodlands Children's Museum

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Looking for the perfect gift for mom?
The Woodlands Children's
Heart Paper Scissors is coming to The Woodlands Children’s Museum just in time for Mother’s Day.
Guests may participate in a fundraiser for the nonprofit museum – and take home a unique gift. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.
Patti Rishforth, owner of Heart Paper Scissors, creates remarkable black and white silhouettes by snipping away at paper. It only takes minutes for her to make a hand-cut profile.
Guests can purchase a piece for $59 per person featured in the picture. Duplicate copies will also be available.
The finished product fits in a 5-inch by 7-inch mat. Frames will be available for purchase for $20.
Rishforth has more than 20 years of experience painting portraits, and believes silhouettes are “portraits of the soul,” capturing the essence of a person.
“Patti’s art is truly unique, and it’s fun to watch her in action,” Angela Colton, executive director of The Woodlands Children’s Museum, explained. “These silhouettes are sure to be gifts mothers will cherish for years to come.”
