Status of Entergy power outages in Montgomery County

CONROE, Texas - Entergy continues to work through the Memorial Day holiday weekend to restore power to customers throughout Montgomery County, though many have been informed that power may not be restored until late Sunday evening.
Repetitive storm systems moving across Montgomery County from the west, veered off in different directions leaving no area of the county unscathed from high winds, which toppled trees and flinging branches, which took its toll on overhead power lines and transformers.
Per the Entergy website…
Three separate storm fronts accompanied by heavy thunderstorms moved through Southeast Texas beginning Thursday night and continuing throughout the day Friday. Over the course of the three storm fronts, approximately 88,227 customers were left without power. Since outages began Thursday afternoon, crews have restored power to 53,677 customers. Entergy Texas continues to respond to the event by bringing in additional restoration workers to assist with restoration efforts. Damage assessments are nearing completion and workers are restoring service to customers as quickly and safely as possible. As with most restoration efforts, Entergy is focusing on restoring power to essential services such as hospitals, nursing homes, fire and police departments and water systems first, then the effort will focus on restoring service to areas where the greatest numbers can be restored fastest.
To expedite restoration, if you suspect the electrical service entrance to your home or business has been damaged, we recommend contacting a licensed electrician to inspect the damage and make the necessary repairs.
Conditions such as this can create problems for an electric system. In addition, the restoration process can also be hampered by the surge of instantaneous electrical demand from appliances (air conditioning, water heaters, etc.) when service is restored, potentially overloading protective devices on the electrical system. To reduce this impact of instantaneous demand, Entergy recommends if you lose power that you turn any electrical appliances that can easily be turned off to the off position until power is restored.
Conroe was one of the most affected areas. Posted to the Entergy website…
