Jayna Evans, Miss Montgomery County, Competes for Miss Texas

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - Jayna Evans, Miss Montgomery County, and Sam Houston State University Alumni is competing for the title of Miss Texas and needs your votes.

The two contestants that receive the most votes will automatically be included in in the Top 12. The Top 12 will be performing all competitions on the final night and from these 12 the new Miss Texas will be chosen. $1 equals 1 vote, the proceeds from the voting benefit the Miss Texas Scholarship Organization. In the pageant Jayna represents her platform, Get MADD: Drunk Driving Awareness. She selected this cause after losing two friends to drunk driving and seeing one arrested for killing as a drunk driver. “There is no reason to drink and drive, get a designated driver, a taxi, or walk. Save someone and save yourself,” said Jayna Evans as her advice to anyone who wishes to drink.

The pageant consists five categories. This includes an interview, where judges learn about the contestant; on-stage questions, the moment that judges ask a wide range of questions from politics to life; evening wear, a dazzling display of all of the ladies wearing wonderful dresses with poise; fitness, a show of health and fitness from the participating women; and talent, a delightful display of skills.

Jayna graduated with her masters in Sports Management at Sam Houston State University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Music with a minor in French at Illinois State University. Jayna said, “I plan on using all of my experiences to help me represent my platform and compete in each category. My education is broad, and with it I am able to show my strength, confidence, and singing talent.”

Voting closes Thursday, June 30 at 10:00pm CST.
